Ramirez has headed Troutman Pepper’s Virginia Beach office for seven years. He joined the 125-year-old global law firm in 2005 and handles mergers and acquisitions, general corporate and limited liability company matters, joint ventures, private equity and licensing transactions. He also serves as outside general counsel to local and national businesses.
Recognized nationally, Ramirez has been named to the Best Lawyers in America list for Mergers and Acquisitions Law every year since 2012 and to the Corporate Law list every year since 2020. Best Lawyers selected him as Mergers and Acquisitions Law Norfolk Lawyer of the Year in 2016, 2018 and 2023, and as Corporate Law Norfolk Lawyer of the Year in 2020 and 2023.
Ramirez earned his undergraduate degree with distinction from the University of Virginia and became a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He received his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law. After law school, Ramirez clerked in the Supreme Court of Virginia’s chief staff attorney’s office. Before joining Troutman, he was a partner at Venable.
