Kinsale Capital Group names COO and CFO

Richmond-based Kinsale Capital Group has promoted Brian D. Haney to chief operating officer and Bryan P. Petrucelli to chief financial officer.

Kinsale Capital Group is the holding company for Kinsale Insurance Co.

“These promotions are in recognition of the expertise and effectiveness of these two individuals and their respective contributions to the company’s growth and profitability over the last five years,” Michael Kehoe, the company’s CEO, said in a statement.

Haney’s responsibilities as COO include Kinsale’s underwriting operations and investor relations. He has been Kinsale’s chief actuary since the company’s founding in 2009.
Before  joining Kinsale, he was chief actuary at James River Insurance Co. and Colony Insurance Co.

As CFO, Petrucelli is responsible for all accounting and financial areas at Kinsale. He was previously Kinsale’s vice president of finance — a position he had held since the company’s founding in 2009.

Before joining Kinsale, he was a senior manager in Ernst & Young’s audit practice.
Kinsale is a domestic excess and surplus lines insurance company specializing in hard-to-place property, casualty and specialty risks.
