In just over four years, Wideman has quintupled the annual revenues of his Fairfax County-based government contracting agency from $100 million to $500 million, expanding its workforce from 130 to more than 2,100 employees, and landing it multiple times on the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing U.S. private companies.

A Temple University electrical engineering graduate, Wideman previously was president of Vistronix Enterprise Solutions and was a vice president at General Dynamics Information Technology Inc.

“As a minority, doors aren’t always open,” he says, but his mother instilled in him a lifelong work ethic that has served him well.

Wideman is proud of the Alaska Native-owned KGS’ diversity and its culture of fairness and inclusiveness, including its Next Generation Leadership program, which helps employees master the skills they need to become managers. “It’s not ‘I did it,’” he says, “but ‘we did it.’”
