Kate Spade New York, a high-end clothing and accessories designer, will open a retail location at Barracks Road Shopping Center in Charlottesville. The store represents Kate Spade’s first foray into Charlottesville and is scheduled to open this spring.
It will offer Kate Spade handbags, ready to wear, small leather goods, watches, fashion accessories, and jewelry among other items. “We will continue to strive to bring our customers a balanced mix of locally-owned retailers and unique national offerings – the addition of Charlottesville’s first Kate Spade New York shop only enhances this vision,” Deirdre Johnson, senior director of asset management for Federal Realty Investment Trust, said in a statement. The Rockville, Md.-based REIT owns the shopping center.
Barracks Road is a 500,000-square-foot shopping center located at the corner of Barracks Road and Emmett Street.
