Jeffrey M. Bourne named general counsel of The Branch Group Inc.

Jeffrey M. Bourne, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, has been named to the newly created position of general counsel for The Branch Group Inc., a Roanoke-based construction company.

Bourne will work at the offices of The Branch Group’s subsidiary company, Branch & Associates Inc., located at 1100 Boulders Parkway, Suite 600, in Richmond.

“This appointment reflects our commitment to meeting today’s growing business challenges and to preparing the company for its execution of our long range strategic goals,” J. William Karbach, CEO of The Branch Group, said in a statement. “Bringing Jeff on board was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.”

Bourne’s professional career includes working for the Richmond law firm McCandlish, Holton & Morris (formerly Morris & Morris), the Mayor of Richmond’s Office, the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and most recently as a deputy attorney general for the transportation, real estate/land use and construction litigation division.

Last year, he was elected to represent the 71st House District, which includes portions of Richmond and Henrico County.  He is a member of the Courts of Justice and Education committees and the Courts of Justice Mental Health subcommittee.

In addition to Branch & Associates Inc., the company’s subsidiaries include Branch Civil Inc. and G. J. Hopkins Inc.
