International Paper Co. has sold its former paper converting facility to Severn Peanut Company for $2.4 million.

Severn plans to turn the facility into a peanut processing plant, its first location in Virginia.

The 154,982-square-foot facility, at 32126 General Thomas Highway in Franklin, is located on 40 acres just off Route 58.
