Dr. Joan H. Schiller has been named deputy director of clinical investigation of the Inova Dwight and Martha Schar Cancer Institute.
Schiller is the former division chief of hematology /oncology at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center.
She also was also deputy director of the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center in Dallas.
Schiller served as an editor for the Journal of Clinical Oncology. She is a board member for the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, and the principal investigator on many national clinical trials for lung cancer.
She graduated from the University of Illinois Medical School and completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She completed a clinical fellowship in the Department of Human Oncology at the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center.
