In the Lead: Best Startup Businesses in Virginia
In the Lead: Best Startup Businesses is a special section (online and print) from Virginia Business recognizing outstanding startup businesses based in Virginia. Winning companies will be featured in the 2025 StartVirginia issue of Virginia Business magazine in June and online.
To be named one of the Best Startup Businesses, a business must have at least four employees, been established within the past five years and be based in Virginia.
To be eligible for consideration as one of the Best Startup Businesses in Virginia, a company must:
- Demonstrate success through growth in revenue or employees.
- Show success in landing some financial backing, including grants, early stage funding/seed funding or more advanced equity funding rounds
- Demonstrate innovation.
- Demonstrate best workplace practices and strong employee morale.
- Demonstrate strong and consistent community engagement.
Deadline for submission is April 18, 2025. Information provided on this form may be used by Virginia Business magazine in the corresponding publication.
