The Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate (HRACRE) has hired Jennifer K. Montgomery as its new executive director effective May 1.
The selection came following an extensive search that began in January after Dana Walker, the organization’s executive director for the past 25 years, announced that she would be retiring at the end of April.
A native of southwest Virginia, Montgomery graduated from Radford University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Most recently, she served as executive director for Abingdon Main Street, a non-profit organization focused on the sustaining the attractiveness of downtown Abingdon.
Montgomery has more than 20 years of experience in public relations, lobbying, strategic planning and nonprofit management. In her new role, she will be responsible for implementing HRACRE’s goals and objectives while managing day-to-day operations.
HRACRE, a non-profit that provides a voice for the commercial real industry in Hampton Roads, has more than 500 members.
Montgomery’s appointment coincides with the celebration of HRACRE’s 25th anniversary. As part of the celebration, HRACRE launched a redesigned web platform and recently chose a new logo.
