Hourigan taps new executive for Hampton Roads

A construction and development firm has made two new hires for its operations in Hampton Roads.

Hourigan has employed Mark Roy as executive vice president for the company’s Hampton Roads office in Virginia Beach. Roy is replacing Chris Brandt, who retired in January after a 24-year career with Hourigan’s construction division.

Roy most recently worked as an executive at HITT Contracting Inc. Before that, Roy was with Lendlease. Roy has a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a master’s degree in building construction from Virginia Tech.

Jamie Booth has been brought on by Hourigan as its client solutions manager at the Hampton Roads office. Booth is tasked with coming up with preconstruction and construction solutions for clients. Booth most recently worked in business development for W.M. Jordan Co.

Hourigan’s work in Hampton Roads includes the straightening of the “Leaning Tower of Granby Street” as part of the adaptive reuse and historic renovation of the Savoy building in downtown Norfolk.

Other Hourigan projects include the Susan S. Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center at Virginia Wesleyan University, a 23,200-square-foot academic facility with a 300-seat theater; a new three-story, 87,300-square-foot headquarters for STIHL; the BelleHarbour Ambulatory Surgery Center and Emergency Department renovation for Sentara Healthcare in Suffolk; and the renovation of a 16-story office building at 500 E. Main St. in Norfolk.

In addition to its Hampton Roads office in Virginia Beach, Hourigan has offices in Richmond and Charlottesville.
