Hollins University in Roanoke has launched a business learning initiative that focuses on entrepreneurship.
The new effort, called the Institute for Entrepreneurial Learning, will focus on encouraging an entrepreneurial outlook across different disciplines.
Professor Karen Messer-Bourgoin, a Hollins alum, will be the Institute for Entrepreneurial Learning’s inaugural director.
Business organizations are participating in the effort. They include The Advancement Foundation, Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce, Regional Accelerator and Mentoring Program, Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council and Roanoke Regional Small Business Development Center.
Hollins is also working with a product innovation firm called prehype and is receiving a license for prehype’s applied entrepreneurship course and course materials.
