Hirschler Fleischer expands presence in Northern Virginia

Hirschler Fleischer is expanding its footprint in Northern Virginia. The Richmond-based law firm said it will combine with the Tysons law firm of Leach Travell PC and open a third office at Tysons, with the changes effective on Jan. 1, 2016.

The move means Hirschler Fleischer will add seven partners in four practice areas: business, litigation, bankruptcy /creditors’ rights and real estate. With the new attorneys, Hirschler Fleischer said it would have a total of 80 attorneys across three offices in Virginia: Richmond, Fredericksburg and Tysons.

“Growth throughout Virginia, and particularly in the Washington, D.C. metro market, has been part of our strategic vision,” James L. Weinberg, president of Hirschler Fleischer, said in a statement. “… Our combination is a direct result of feedback from both firms’ clients to expand our service capabilities, geographic reach and depth of talent, while maintaining our value-driven rate structure.”

Wayne G. Travell, managing partner for Leach Travell, also will serve as managing partner of Hirschler’s Tysons office. He noted in a statement that the boutique firm “was built through personal relationships formed at some of the nation’s largest and best law firms.” By joining forces with Hirschler,  “This combination will give us the opportunity to work alongside like-minded professionals, while broadening the suite of legal services we can offer. It will also offer Hirschler Fleischer’s clients the opportunity to be represented by leading practitioners in the federal and state courts, and in the bankruptcy courts in Northern Virginia, the District of Columbia and Maryland.”

The following attorneys will join Hirschler Fleischer as partners:

·         Wayne G. Travell and Robert R. Vieth will lead Hirschler Fleischer’s Tysons complex business litigation and alternative dispute resolution practices. Roxanne F. Rosado also is a member of the Tysons complex business litigation group. In addition to her role as a client counselor and advocate, Rosado will continue to lead the group’s efforts with regard to the collection, analysis and production of electronically stored information, including the admissibility of social media evidence.

·         Stephen E. Leach and Lawrence A. Katz will lead Hirschler Fleischer’s Tysons bankruptcy and creditor rights’ practice. Kristen E. Burgers, a former law clerk for the Honorable Robert G. Mayer, also is a member of the Tysons’ bankruptcy practice.

·         M. Jay Yurow will lead Hirschler Fleischer’s Tysons real estate finance and transactional practices.  He is assisted in that effort by Burgers.
