Herndon-based cloud services provider ViON Corp. has been awarded a $184 million contract with the Internal Revenue Service, the company announced Wednesday.

ViON will perform work under the IRS’s Managed Infrastructure Data Service program. It will provide managed services to reengineer, maintain and operate the IRS’s storage and compute infrastructure environment with on-site, infrastructure-as-a-service for storage and compute capabilities.

It’s a one-year contract with the option of eight additional one-year terms.

Founded in 1980, ViON designs and delivers enterprise data center solutions for government agencies and commercial businesses. The company provides a large portfolio of IT as-a-Service, including infrastructure, multicloud and artificial intelligence solutions.
