Galvanize Inc. has produced more than 8,000 graduates working for 2,250 companies.

Herndon-based online education provider K12 Inc. will acquire Denver-based data and technology school Galvanize Inc. in a $165 million all-cash transaction, the company announced Monday.
The deal was approved by both companies’ boards of directors and is expected to close on Monday.
The acquisition includes Galvanize’s management team, campuses and software engineering and data science programs. Galvanize specializes in software engineering and data science online programs.
“This acquisition expands our vision for career education to go beyond high school by developing talent and capabilities for learners of all ages and backgrounds,” K12 Chairman and CEO Nate Davis said in a statement.
K12 offers online-only and blended programs to charter schools, public schools, private schools, families and post-secondary institutions. The company has clients in more than 70 public and private schools and more than 2,000 school districts. K12 also announced Monday that it had revenues of $257.6 million for the second fiscal quarter ended Dec .31, 2019.
Galvanize operates eight campuses in the U.S. and an online school. The school has more than 8,000 graduates who have worked for 2,250 companies.
