Herndon-based ePlus inc. is expanding its presence in the West with the acquisition of California-based IT solutions provider Evolve Technology Group.
Located in Sacramento, Calif., Evolve provides information security, collaboration, virtualization and data center solutions to state, local and educational customers as well as commercial clients.
“The acquisition of Evolve advances our strategy to grow as a nationwide provider of complex IT solutions. Evolve will expand our geographic footprint in California and the Western United States, and enhance our engineering delivery of advanced technology solutions including data center, security and networking,” Phillip G. Norton, the chairman, CEO and president of ePlus, said in a statement.
Evolve’s revenue last year was about $27 million.
The deal involves a subsidiary, ePlus Technology inc., acquiring the operating assets and certain liabilities of Granite Business Solutions Inc., which does business as Evolve Technology.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1990, ePlus has more than 900 employees serving commercial, state, municipal and education customers nationally.
The company ranks as one of the 50 largest publicly traded companies in Virginia.
