The U.S. General Services Administration is moving forward with its search for the next FBI headquarters which it is looking to locate in Washington, D.C., or surrounding counties in Virginia and Maryland.
The agency is accepting site proposals from now until Dec. 17. The advertisement asks interested parties to provide information on sites that they would donate to the government or sites that they would sell to the government. GSA also will consider sites currently owned by the government.
Last March, GSA received 38 responses from the development community about exchanging the FBI’s current headquarters in the J. Edgar Hoover building, which no longer meet the bureau’s needs for its headquarters.
In April, Virginia Business reported that many localities expressed interest in landing the FBI headquarters, including locations in Fairfax and Loudoun counties.
