A San Francisco-based grocery delivery service has expanded to Richmond.
Instacart offers users same-day delivery service from Wegmans, Publix, Whole Foods Market, Costco, Petco and CVS.
Customers can shop online or on a mobile app to select the store and items they receive.
The cost of membership is $149 a year or $14.00 per month. The company, however, is offering customers a free, one-year subscription to the service on deliveries of more than $35 if they sign up by July 26.
Instacart was founded in 2012 and has more than 300 full-time employees and operates in more than 70 markets. The company plans to hire 100 “Instacart shoppers,” who will select the groceries and deliver them within the specified timeframe.
