Graham Holdings Co. is moving its headquarters to Arlington

The company that formerly owned The Washington Post is moving its headquarters to Arlington.

Graham Holdings Co. said Wednesday that its new home will be 1300 N. 17th St., Suite 1700, in Arlington.

The move takes effect next Monday.

The Washington Post Co. changed its name to Graham Holdings after it sold the newspaper last year to Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.com for $250 million.

The company also sold its headquarters building at 15th and L Streets in Washington, D.C., to Carr Properties for $159 million.

Graham Holdings is a education and media company whose principal operations include educational services, television broadcasting, cable systems and online, print and local TV news.

Its holdings include Kaplan, a major provider of educational services; Graham Media Group (which includes television stations in Detroit, Houston, Orlando, San Antonio and Jacksonville, Fla.); Cable ONE, serving small-city subscribers in 19 states; The Slate Group (Slate, Slate V, The Root); and Foreign Policy.

The company also owns Trove, a digital team focused on innovation and experimentation with emerging technologies; SocialCode, a social marketing solutions company; Celtic Healthcare; Forney Corp. Joyce/Dayton Corp; and Residential Healthcare Group.
