In 2024, Ash succeeded John Goodman as CEO and board chair for Accenture Federal Services, an Accenture subsidiary that serves U.S. federal government clients.

Ash served as chief operating officer at AFS since 2022. He joined Accenture in 1996 and moved to AFS in 2002, taking on various executive roles.

Ash landed for the first time in 2025 on Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list of top executives. In September 2024, AFS received a $1.6 billion Air Force task order to scale and enhance cloud computing services. That was followed in January by a $3.5 billion Department of Energy contract for information technology services, although Booz Allen Hamilton and Leidos have filed protests, and the department has agreed to reconsider the award, according to March news reports.

Accenture’s fiscal 2024 revenue was $64.9 billion, up 1% from 2023 and AFS accounted for 8% of the company’s global revenue in fiscal 2024. Accenture CEO Julie Sweet said in March that efficiency efforts by the Trump administration had slowed sales and revenue.

An Ohio University alumnus, Ash has served as an executive sponsor of AFS’ Hispanic American Employee Resource Group.
