Gov.-elect Terry McAuliffe named Karen Jackson on Thursday as secretary of technology.
Jackson served as deputy secretary of technology under Govs. Timothy M. Kaine and Bob McDonnell.
Her selection drew praise from Virginia’s largest technology group, the 1000-member Northern Virginia Technology Council.
“As deputy secretary of technology, Karen has been a great partner with the technology community and has cultivated a strong record of success. We look forward to working with Karen in her new role as Virginia's secretary of technology to further distinguish Virginia as a global technology center,” NVTC CEO Bobbie Kilburg said in a statement on behalf of the NVTC and its membership.
