Mark Malcolm has been elected to the board of directors of Falls Church-based General Dynamics. He will serve on the board’s audit committee.

Malcolm has been president and CEO of Tower International Inc. since August 2007. Tower is one of the largest independent global suppliers of engineered automotive structural metal components and assemblies for major vehicle manufacturers.

Malcolm worked for Ford Motor Co. for 28 years, with his final position as executive vice president and controller of Ford Credit, from 2004 to 2005.

Malcolm also was a senior advisor to Cerberus Capital Management from 2006 to 2007.
