Gary R. Shook named chairman of Virginia Bankers Association

The Virginia Bankers Association has named Gary R. Shook as its new chairman. John R. Milleson has also been chosen as VBA’s chairman-elect. He is slated to become the association’s chairman in 2014.

Shook is the president and CEO of Middleburg Bank. He succeeds Jeffrey M. Szyperski, chairman, president and CEO of Chesapeake Bank.

Milleson is president and CEO of Bank of Clarke County and Eagle Financial Services Inc.

The Virginia Bankers Association maintains a legislative advocacy program, trains bankers statewide, and provides products and services to help its member banks best serve their communities.
