Former Senator Kent Conrad joins Genworth’s board

Henrico County-based Genworth Financial Inc. has elected former Sen. Kent Conrad to serve as a new independent director.

Conrad’s election to Genworth’s board of directors increases the size of the board from nine to 10 directors.

Conrad was the Democratic chairman of the Senate Budget Committee until he retired in January. He served as a U.S. Senator representing North Dakota for 26 years.

Genworth Financial Inc. is a Fortune 500 insurance holding company with approximately 6,300 employees.
