Chesapeake-based 601 Volvo LLC purchased the former Parkway Christian Center Inc. building in Chesapeake for $5.75 million, Toronto, Ontario, Canada-based commercial real estate company Colliers International announced Monday.

The 36,185-square-foot building at 601 Volvo Pkwy. in Chesapeake sits on more than five acres of land. The building is less than a mile from Dollar Tree’s corporate office, Family Dollar’s corporate office, engine manufacturer Volvo Penta of the Americas and is in close proximity to Summit Pointe, a 69-acre mixed-use development, which primarily consists of office space.

601 Volvo plans to redevelop the property for commercial use, although a timeline for completion has not been released.

Colliers Senior Vice Presidents Jeff Parker and Chris Read of the company’s Norfolk office handled the sale on behalf of the seller.

Colliers has more than 14,000 employees and operates in 68 countries. In 2018, its corporate revenues were recorded at $2.8 billion.
