After working on Wall Street for 16 years, Cassaday founded Cassaday & Co. Inc., an independent wealth management firm, in 1993. Today, the company boasts 81 employees and manages $4.7 billion in assets.
Cassaday is a member of Barron’s Hall of Fame for appearing in the annual Top 100 Advisor rankings for 10 years or longer. In eight out of the last nine years, Barron’s has named Cassaday the top financial adviser in the state.
Those who met Cassaday in younger days could be forgiven for not forecasting his future business success. More interested in playing in his band than filling out college applications, Cassaday ended up at Radford University because it was the only school where the application deadline hadn’t passed, according to a profile published by the university. That said, Cassaday earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the university in three years.
At the end of 2021, Cassaday & Co. joined Focus Financial Partners, a partnership of more than 75 independent fiduciary wealth management firms.
