Ahmed is no stranger to Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of most influential industry leaders, having landed on it five times in the
11 years since it was established.
He co-founded DISYS in 1994 and has served as its CEO since 1998. It is now one of the largest information technology staffing firms in the country, helped in part by last year’s announcement that it was acquiring Florida-based staffing firm Signature Consultants. Ahmed now serves as CEO for the combined organization, which employs more than 10,000 workers and consultants globally. Together, the firms total more than $1 billion in revenue, according to SIA.
Ahmed left his home in Bangladesh to attend George Mason University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 1993. DISYS started as a side project with friends while he worked at ExxonMobil. “For the first two years, our revenue was $500,” he told GMU’s Mason Spirit.
Also a Harvard Business School graduate, Ahmed serves on GMU’s President’s Innovation Advisory Council.
