Last year, Google announced it was standing up a subsidiary focusing on government and educational contracting. In October 2022, Dahut left Booz Allen Hamilton, where she led its $4 billion global defense business, to become CEO of Google Public Sector, based out of Google’s Washington, D.C., and Reston offices. She replaced founding CEO Will Grannis, who returned to his job as chief technology officer for Google Cloud.
Dahut served in the Navy for six years, including at the Navy Medical Research Institute in Maryland, and as a civilian, she worked at the Logistics Management Institute, a Tysons-based nonprofit federal contractor, before joining Booz Allen.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in business finance from Mount St. Mary’s University and a master’s degree from the Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California. Dahut sits on the board of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum.
Named three times to Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 List of top government contracting executives, Dahut announced in May that Google Public Sector will create a board of directors chaired by a former Air Force chief of staff, retired four-star Gen. David Goldfein.
