LMI has been busy making deals since Wagoner joined the government defense and consulting firm in 2020. It expanded its presence in the fast-growing space defense industry with the 2022 purchase of Colorado Springs, Colorado-based Synaptech and got a foothold in the public health sector with the 2021 acquisition of Suntiva. In March, LMI announced it received a five-year contract from the FDA to support modernizing its business operations.
In 2022, the company sold its for-profit subsidiary LMI to a consortium of investors including Declaration Partners (a firm anchored by the family office of Carlyle Group co-founder David Rubenstein) and rebranded the remaining nonprofit entity as NobleReach Foundation.
Founded in 1961 as the Logistics Management Institute at the Pentagon, LMI was created to address supply and logistics challenges for the Department of Defense.
Before joining LMI, Wagoner was sector president at Reston-based Fortune 500 company Science Applications International Corp. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from William & Mary and his MBA from Virginia Tech. Wagoner serves on boards for the United Service Organizations National Capital District, Blessings in a Backpack, and the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
