Responsible for companywide strategy and performance, Watkins has served since 2018 as president and CEO of Landmark Media Enterprises and its subsidiary, Dominion Enterprises.
A digital marketing and software services provider, Dominion Enterprises started under the umbrella of the former Landmark Communications, a Norfolk-based media company that owned The Virginian-Pilot, The Roanoke Times and The Weather Channel. Dominion’s brands include data services companies Digital Envoy and Alliant, as well as tech solutions for the automotive, hospitality and real estate industries.
Landmark Media Enterprises’ subsidiaries include cloud computing and data center company Expedient, which Watkins co-founded in late 2000. He led acquisitions from 2003 to 2007 and then oversaw the company’s growth before taking on his current role as CEO in 2018.
Prior to joining Landmark as vice president for corporate development and new ventures more than 20 years ago, Watkins was president of a Duke Energy subsidiary in North Carolina. He earned his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from William & Mary.
