Riddle was named chairman and CEO of Rolls-Royce North America and president of its defense division in April, succeeding Thomas Bell, who left to become CEO of Leidos Holdings.
Riddle has worked for the British aero-engineering company’s defense branch for more than a decade. He most recently headed up its global services operations, which accounts for more than half of Rolls-Royce’s Defence unit’s annual revenues. Before that, he was director of strategy and future programs, which included winning contracts for the Air Force’s B-52 aircraft’s replacement engines, a deal that could reach $2.6 billion, and providing the propulsion system for the V-280 Valor for the Army’s Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft program.
Prior to Rolls-Royce, Riddle worked for Boeing’s defense operations. He is a West Point graduate and former U.S. Army officer.
In 2022, Rolls-Royce Holdings reported about $16.11 billion in underlying revenue, up from about $13.98 billion in 2021. Its defense unit reported about $4.65 billion in underlying revenue, up from approximately $4.3 billion in 2021.
