Fairfax County-based Zantech IT Services Inc. plans to more than double its employment.

On Wednesday, the company announced a $317,853 expansion of its corporate offices in the Tysons area.

As a result of the project, Zantech expects to add 120 employees to its current workforce of 100.

“Fairfax County is the perfect location for our headquarters office to attract and retain a qualified workforce with advanced degrees and security clearances,” Zia Islam, Zantech’s CEO, said in a statement.

Virginia competed with Washington, D.C., Maryland and West Virginia for the Zantech project.

Founded in 2007, the minority-owned company provides IT services such as program support, applications development, systems operations and maintenance to federal and industrial customers.

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority worked with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) to secure the project.

VEDP will support Zantech’s job creation through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program.

The program provides consultative services and funding to companies creating jobs or experiencing technological change in order to support employee-training activities.
