Fairfax-based Guidehouse names chief human resources officer

Fairfax-based Guidehouse has named Jamila Taylor as its chief human resources officer.

Taylor joined the consultancy in 2019 to help build its human resources functions and later that year was named partner and lead of Guidehouse’s shared services function.

In her new role, Taylor will focus on strategy, talent acquisition and retainment, performance management as well as learning, leadership and cultural development.

“At Guidehouse, our people have always been our greatest asset, and Jamila has helped us define our people and talent strategy, one which inspires our employees to achieve their best every day,” Guidehouse Chief Operating Officer Charles Beard said in a news release announcing the appointment. “Jamila embodies a collaborative and empathetic leadership style and as our CHRO, she will be instrumental in creating programs that help us support and retain our talented employees in consulting, digital services and managed services, while also ensuring we can continue to attract skilled and diverse talent around the globe to help us fulfill our vision for the future.”

Taylor has more than two decades of experience working in human resources, according to her LinkedIn account. She received bachelor’s degrees in human resources and German and a master’s in human resources and labor relations from Michigan State University. She also serves on Guidehouse’s audit committee, inclusion and diversity council and compensation committee providing management oversight for functions including the management review and leadership commitment.

Guidehouse announced it would move its global headquarters to Tysons in May 2021, becoming one of the region’s biggest economic deals in a year overshadowed by a global pandemic. Owned by Veritas Capital, Guidehouse employs more than 12,000 people in more than 50 locations around the world and works in public and commercial markets, providing advisory, consulting, outsourcing and digital services in management, technology and risk consulting.
