Equity Residential has opened a new luxury apartment project in Old Town Alexandria. According to the company, nearly 70 percent of the first phase of 1111 Belle Pre is leased.
The $100 million, 360-unit apartment community will include two residential buildings, about 9,700 square feet of ground-floor retail and a public plaza featuring a commissioned sculpture by artist William Cochran. It’s located on the historic site of the Belle Pre Bottle Factory, a glassworks company that operated from 1902 to 1921, until it was destroyed by fire. Belle Pre was best known as a milk bottle producer, although in its early years, it also produced green beer bottles and bottles for soda.
The first of the two buildings is complete and offers one-bedroom units, renting for about $1,600 a month, and two-bedroom units, starting in the mid $2,400s. The apartments offer expansive windows with views of the downtown city skyline, hardwood flooring, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Amenities include a landscaped rooftop with pool, fire pit and grilling stations, a resident lounge with theater, private dining room, multiple gaming options and a fitness center with yoga.
When complete, 1111 Belle Pre will feature 70 different floor plans ranging in size from 534 to 1,348 square feet.
To celebrate the opening, the company will hold an open house on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 1-4 p.m.
