A subsidiary of Herndon-based IT company ePlus inc. has acquired AdviStor Inc., a storage-focused solutions provider in Pittsford, N.Y.
The company said the deal will expand its existing presence in upstate New York and enhance storage engineering and sales delivery capabilities.
Details of the transaction, which involved company subsidiary ePlus Technology inc., are not being disclosed.
In addition to the deal, ePlus announced a stock repurchase program Thursday in which it will buy up to 750,000 shares during the next 12 months. The company had 8.2 million shares outstanding on Oct. 31.
Founded in 2002, AdviStor is based in Pittsford, with a division in Albany N.Y. The company offers a wide range of solutions to meet current and future data storage and backup needs for commercial, educational, and state and local government clients.
Founded in 1990, ePlus has more than 900 employees serving federal, state, municipal, and commercial customers nationally. It currently ranks 37th in Virginia Business’ list of the commonwealth’s 50 largest publicly traded companies.
