The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) awarded Herndon-based federal contractor Constellis a $198 million contract to provide security operations support at Camp Buehring and Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, the company announced Thursday.

Constellis company Triple Canopy, which has worked with the DoD for the past nine years in Kuwait, will carry out the contract announced Thursday. The contract, which was awarded through the DoD’s Security Support Services indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, has a one-year base term and three optional years.

“We are very pleased to be part of this new contract after nearly a decade of providing essential operations in Kuwait,” Constellis CEO Tim Reardon said in a statement. “It is important work, and we’re proud to continue supporting the DoD’s programs in the region.”

Triple Canopy’s work in Kuwait has included police administration, law enforcement, access control and security-related functions. The company provides protection to U.S. Army installations, materials, property and personnel.

Founded in 2010, Constellis employs 24,000 people and provides risk management, security, training and operational support in 40 countries.
