Denny’s is doing a major overhaul of its four restaurants in Norfolk. The company announced that they will undergo renovations, while units in Virginia Beach, Hampton and Chesapeake also will get new, locally inspired designs and reinvigorated menus.
“In seeking out the best market in which to test Denny’s new kitchen equipment, unit and uniform designs and even a handful of new diner dishes, Norfolk seemed the perfect fit,” Steve Henry, senior director of field marketing for Denny’s, said in a statement. “Denny’s has been a key part of the Norfolk community for 35 years, and we’re excited to … share the latest in restaurant innovation with all of our customers and guests.”
Among the improvements will be a complete kitchen overhaul aimed at improving consistency, product quality and operational efficiency. For instance the company is installing new high-speed convection ovens that can bake a potpie from scratch in just less than three minutes.
The new décor will consist of wall murals, new tile floors, lighting, tile and stonewalls, high-backed booths and flat screen televisions.
