John Montoro ran accounting practice in Richmond.

Richmond-based nonprofit Commonwealth Catholic Charities announced Thursday it has named John Montoro as its chief financial officer. 

Montoro has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting and working with nonprofit organizations and local governments as an auditor and consultant. He started an accounting practice, RealTime Accounting Solutions, seven years ago. His Richmond-area clients have included the Salvation Army, United Way and the American Red Cross. 

He received his bachelor’s degree in urban planning from the University of Virginia. 

Founded in 1923, Commonwealth Catholic Charities provides an array of services, including adoptive services, clothes closets, food pantries and foster care.
