The Herndon-based Center for Innovative Technology has announced its next CEO.
Ed Albrigo will take the top role at the nonprofit Nov. 2. He succeeds Peter Jobse who is stepping down to return to the private sector.
Albrigo, former COO for McLean-based consulting firm Hilltop Cos., was chosen after a nationwide search, Gov. Terry McAuliffe said in a statement.
Before joining Hilltop, Albrigo was senior vice president at Freddie Mac and executive vice president and general manager of the Corporation for Open Systems.
“CIT’s national recognition in seed-stage funding, translational research investment, company formation and technology assimilation provides an excellent foundation for CIT’s expansion,” Albirgo said in a statement. “I intend to focus on significant growth and opportunity for CIT and the commonwealth.”
CIT is a nonprofit that, since 1985, has focused on creating innovation and entrepreneurship. It aims to accelerate the next generation of technology and technology companies through commercialization, capital formation, market development and revenue-generation services.
