McCrory communications chief returning to Tenn.

RALEIGH, N.C. North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory's communications director says he's leaving the job after only three months in Raleigh because of family concerns. Chris Walker said Saturday he'll be moving back to Nashville, Tenn., where his family has remained and has had trouble selling their house. He said his wife is also about to have their second child and won't be able to travel.

RICHMOND A House committee this afternoon approved a ban on bond agents having sex with their customers. The effort by the Virginia Bail Agents Association was as a result of several cases in which bondsmen traded sex for bail or coerced their customers into having sex with them by threatening to revoke their bond and return them to jail, said Micheal Donovan, a lobbyist for the association.

RICHMOND A Senate committee has rejected legislation to require a little more accountability for Virginia lawmakers who travel at taxpayer expense. On a voice vote Friday, the Rules Committee killed Sen. Don McEachin's proposal to prohibit compensation or expense reimbursement for legislators who attend conferences that do not make their agenda or materials readily available to the public.

Va. Senate panel postpones debate on texting bills

RICHMOND A Senate committee has postponed until Monday debate on bills to crack down on texting while driving. The Courts of Justice Committee had been scheduled to consider the legislation today as the General Assembly faces a Tuesday deadline for each chamber to act on its own bills.
