NRetail and Cabela’s Inc. announced Thursday that the speciality outdoor retailer is coming to Richmond. Cabela’s has leased 97,500 square feet at West Broad Marketplace in a new mixed-use retail development Vienna-based company NVRetail is building in the Short Pump corridor of Henrico County at the intersection of West Broad Street and Cold Hill Lane.
Cabela’s said the new store is expected to hire 150 full- and part-time workers. As part of an expansion, it has other stores going up across the country, including one in Bristol, Va., that will open next year.
Featuring a mix of retail shops, restaurants, and lifestyle amenities, NVRetail’s 350,000-square-foot West Broad Marketplace is scheduled to open in spring 2016. “We are excited to be part of the dynamic Short Pump market,” Jack Waghorn, NVRetail’s president, said in a statement.
Connie Jordan Nielsen of the Richmond office of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer has been retained to market and lease the additional retail at West Broad Marketplace.
Cabela's, headquartered in Sidney, Neb., is the world's largest direct marketer of hunting, fishing, camping and related outdoor merchandise.
