Brown and Caldwell, a Walnut Creek, Calif.-based environmental firm, has opened a new office in Richmond.
The company said the office, located downtown at 919 E. Main St., will support its expanding environmental client base in Virginia. “Our staff has worked with many communities in the area, and we recognize the importance of putting down roots right in the heart of the commonwealth,” Don Cole, the office leader, said in a statement.
The office has a staff of two with other company employees working there on a regular basis to help with projects.
Brown and Caldwell offers engineering, scientific, consulting, and construction services. According to the company, it has substantially increased its presence and services in Virginia over the past decade.
The Engineers Club of Hampton Roads recently recognized tBrown and Caldwell with an Outstanding Engineering Award for an assessment program it did for the Hampton Roads Sanitation District.
Other recent projects in Virginia include: stormwater management and Clean Water Act compliance services for the city of Richmond; a biosolids master plan for the city of Lynchburg; a water distribution model for the city of Norfolk; and a wastewater pumping station and educational facility in the city of Alexandria.
