Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp. announced Friday that it has promoted two executives to replace retiring Chief Financial and Administrative Officer Sam Strickland and Vice Chairman John “Mike” McConnell.

Kevin L. Cook has been elected CFO by the Booz Allen's board of directors, and Joseph W. Mahaffee will become chief administrative officer. The new appointments are effective July 1 after Strickland and McConnell retire.

Cook, 58, joined the firm in 1986 and returned in 2003 after spending seven years as senior vice president of client development for JAMIS Software. Cook is currently senior vice president and corporate controller of Booz Allen. He has also managed the company's services operations.

Mahaffee, 56, joined Booz Allen in 1981 and is currently executive vice president and chief information security officer. He currently leads the firm's information services, security services and shared services operational teams. Before joining Booz Allen, Mahaffee was an information security engineer at the Department of Defense.

Mahaffee and Cook co-lead the firm's IT operating group.

Both Strickland and McConnell will be senior executive advisers after their retirement.
