A new hotel chain, stayAPT Suites, is set to open its first location nationwide in southern Fairfax County in early October, near Fort Belvoir on U.S. Route 1. The hotel will have 73 rooms, and each suite will include a living room and full kitchens.
The Matthews, North Carolina-based chain announced the brand in January, with plans to build other locations this year in Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. The Alexandria-Fort Belvoir location, at 8849 Richmond Highway, will include a courtyard with a fire pit, onsite laundry facilities and a gym.
According to a news release, the rooms will have individual central heating and air systems, and a mobile app allows guests to check in without contact at the front desk, in addition to other protective measures against the coronavirus pandemic.
