Danville Pittsylvania Chamber names next CEO

A familiar face will take the helm of the Danville Pittsylvania Chamber of Commerce in April.

Anne Moore-Sparks will serve as the chamber’s next president and CEO, the chamber announced Monday.

“Anne is well known in the community and will bring her connections and strong interpersonal skills to the Chamber,” John Settle, chair of the search committee, said in a statement.

The Danville native served the city’s school system as community engagement and business partnership specialist, teacher quality specialist and as director of the Danville Public Schools Education Foundation. She has also worked for Gateway Health, the city of Danville and for the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research.

“She understands the chamber’s mission and place in the community and will continue to make the organization strong and relevant,” said Michael B. Jones, chairman of the board.

Moore-Sparks succeeds Alexis Ehrhardt, who left in September 2021 to take a job at the University of Virginia. She will begin her new role April 4.

The new president and CEO is a graduate of Averett University.

“My history with the region and its businesses makes me proud to lead the region’s premier business organization,” Moore-Sparks said. “I see the chamber as an integral part of the region’s economic development infrastructure and our programs and services will help businesses prosper here.”
