BFPE International, a fire protection and security firm, will celebrate its expanding operations with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a new Hampton Roads regional headquarters in Chesapeake at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2.
The company’s 12,000-square-foot space at 213 Tintern Court has more than doubled the company’s office and warehouse space. BFPE’s Chesapeake office currently employs 40 people, and it expects to add 20 additional workers over a three-year period.
“This new facility will allow us to grow and better serve our customers throughout the Hampton Roads region and beyond,” Michael Beatty Sr., the company’s general manager, said in a statement.
“In the course of three decades, BFPE has tripled in size and each time has found the right building and workforce in Chesapeake,” added Steven Wright, director of Chesapeake’s Department of Economic Development. “This announcement speaks volumes to the strength of our pro-business climate for existing businesses.”
BFPE, based in Hanover, Md., has seven offices on the East Coast, including one in Chesterfield County for a total of two in Virginia.
