Nonprofit BBB National Programs announced Friday the opening of its new 15,300-square-foot headquarters in Tysons.

Located at 1676 International Drive, the  location will allow for an operations expansion and allow BBB National Programs to grow its portfolio of self-regulation and dispute resolution programs, according to an organization statement.

“As an organization that is proud to partner with the largest corporations and major law firms, the Tysons area of Fairfax County in Northern Virginia is a great location to serve our stakeholders,” Eric D. Reicin, BBB National Programs president and CEO, said in a statement. “For an independent organization, our relationships with businesses, government regulators like the FTC and Department of Commerce, as well as consumers are all critical to helping develop a fairer and more trustworthy marketplace.”

Built in 1999, the 1676 International Drive office building is owned by Brandywine Realty Trust, and encompasses a total of nearly 300,000 square feet. The entire building was most recently assessed for $41.9 million, according to Fairfax County property records. BBB National Programs did not disclose a lease price.

Some of BBB National’s programs began in 1971, and the organization was established as an independent nonprofit entity in 2019 after the restructuring of the Council of Better Business Bureaus. Its programs help companies establish standards and best practices in advertising, privacy, customer warranty issues, children’s and teen privacy and marketing and dispute resolution.

“BBB National Programs is doing important work that benefits businesses in some of our largest industries as well as consumers, and I am proud to say this work will be done in Fairfax County,” Fairfax County Economic Development Authority President and CEO Victor Hoskins said in a statement. “I appreciate the vote of confidence that the organization has shown in Fairfax County, and Tysons in particular, to achieve its goals.”

BBB National Programs also operates an office on Madison Avenue in New York City.
