Baskervill, an architecture firm with offices in Richmond and Vienna, announced several new project awards. One of the largest projects involves a new advanced manufacturing center for the Halifax Industrial Development Authority.

On that project, Baskervill is providing architectural and interior design services. The project converts a former furniture manufacturing facility into an incubator for advanced manufacturing companies. Phase 1, currently in design, renovates 14,000 square feet at the front the building for an office and training center. The remainder of the 500,000-square-foot building will be designed and renovated in future phases.

Hospitality
Baskervill also is providing architectural and interior design services for a hotel conversion at Liberty University. Under a design-build contract with Pinkerton & Laws, the project converts an existing Wingate by Wyndham to a Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott and includes custom updates to public spaces and guestrooms, including use of the Liberty logo and school colors. The project also will feature unique elements specific to Liberty’s needs. For instance, some guestrooms will include study rooms to accommodate Liberty’s growing online student population who visit campus periodically. There’s also a new VIP suite with enhanced security features to provide safe and comfortable lodging for Liberty’s high-profile guests. A former spa area will be converted to a small performance space for Liberty student musicians.

Corporate
Baskervill is working with The Patina Group LLC on interior renovations for the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s 18th floor space at Riverfront on the James in Richmond.

Healthcare

Baskervill is providing architectural services to Centra Health at Southside Community Memorial Hospital in Farmville on a new, 2,000-square-foot addition to the existing hospital to house new equipment.
