Arlington-based BAE Systems Inc. has named Jerry DeMuro its president and CEO, effective Feb. 1. DeMuro has more than 36 years of experience in the national security, technology and aerospace industry. Most recently, he was executive vice president and corporate vice president of the Information Systems and Technology group at Falls Church-based General Dynamics.
DeMuro succeeds Linda P. Hudson who plans to retire from the company this year. She will remain on the BAE Systems Inc. board as an outside director until April 2015.
DeMuro will be appointed executive director of BAE Systems plc and will serve on BAE Systems’ Executive Committee and on the board of BAE Systems Inc. He will report to Ian King, CEO of BAE Systems plc and Michael Chertoff, chairman of the board for BAE Systems Inc.
DeMuro joined General Dynamics in 1999. Before that he was an acquisition official at the U.S. Department of Defense.
