AVX Learning LLC has acquired the Falls Church-based Adayana Government Group, a human capital training and consulting company.
AVX Learning is a subsidiary of AVX Holdings Inc., a portfolio company of West Palm Beach, Fla.-based private lending firm Comvest Capital, a longtime lender to AGG.
“This acquisition by AVX Learning will allow us to continue investing in innovation, particularly in the areas of simulation and immersive learning to better serve our warfighters and first responders,” Jeff Kidwell, president of Adayana Government, said in a statement..
VERTEX Solutions, doing business as the Adayana Government, has provided high-end custom training, gaming, simulation, communication and learning consulting services to federal agencies for 17 years.
New ownership will also bring new leadership to Adayana Government. Alan Kessman will serve as chairman of the company’s board.
Kessman is an operating partner at Comvest and previously was the CEO of Custom Cable Industries, ISOETEC Communications Inc., Executone Information Systems Inc., and Vion Pharmaceuticals Inc.
AVX also acquired the Adayana Industry Group, which will operate independently.
Comvest Partners, with $1.1 billion of assets under management, provides flexible financing solutions to lower middle-market companies through its equity and debt funds.
Since 2000, Comvest has invested more than $1.7 billion of capital in over 115 public and private companies.
