Arlington-based Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) has named Mike Geiger president and CEO. The appointment is effective Nov. 1.
Geiger previously served as the executive director and chief operating officer of the Chief Executives Organization Inc. (CEO), a global community of leaders. Prior to his time at CEO, Geiger was chief financial officer at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and vice president and CFO of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
AFP works to advance effective and ethical fundraising.
Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, Geiger is a certified public accountant. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond and a master's degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University.
